LawnStarter Launches In Austin
LawnStarter, an online marketplace service which helps connect consumers with lawn services, has formally launched its services in Austin, after a stint at the TechStars Austin program. The service--think "Uber" for lawn care--helps consumers find people willing to provide lawn and yard work. The company says its matches up consumers looking for lawn care with carefully screened companies in their individual areas. The expansion is the first for the startup beyond its roots in Washington, DC. The company relocated to Austin in June as part of TechStars. The company is backed by angel investors, in addition to funding it received from TechStars. The company said it will cover all of Austin, Buda, Cedar Park, Circle C, Dripping Springs, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Jollyville, Kyle, Lakeway, Marble Falls, Round Rock, San Marcos, and Spicewood in its initial launch.
