The Attachmate Group Merges With Micro Focus

Houston-based The Attachmate Group, the software company owned by Francisco Partners, Golden Gate Capital, Elliott Management and Thoma Bravo, said this morning that it is merging with Micro Focus, a developer of enterprise software used for modernizing, testing, and managing software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The companies said the deal is subject to regulatory approval under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act, as well as shareholder approvals. The Attachmate Group owns Attachmate, Novell, NetIQ, and SUSE.
