Vemory Buys Video Editing App Splice
Austin-based Vemory, the startup which develops iOS apps to automatically create music videos from your phone photos, has acquired video editing app Splice. Vemory said it acquired the Splice app from Path 36. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Vemory said it will update and expand the capabilities of the Splice video editing app, and also incorporate its features into its own tools. Vemory is led by Hunter Powell. The company's app automatically pulls pictures from social media and your cell phone to create music videos, using social hints from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Flickr to choose and organize those photos.
