Flocasts Gets $8M For Sports Media Channels

Austin-based Flocasts, a startup which is developing sports-centered news and video sites focused on track and field, wrestling, gymantics, and other sports areas, has raised $8M in a funding round, the company said Wednesday. The funding came from Causeway Media Partners. FLocasts is looking to cover sports that are often ignored by mainstream media, via vertical websites and live streaming channels. The company was founded by Martin and Mark Floreani and Madhu Venkatesan. The company said the funding will go towards expansion and growth. More information »
