Freescale Takes On Tire Pressure Monitoring
Austin-based Freescale Semiconductor has rolled out a new device today, aimed at improving driving safety--a new product which helps monitor tire pressure in cars. The company's new FXTH87 tire pressure monitoring system is aimed at automobile manufacturers and the auto market, and includes a dual axis accelerometer, pressure and temperature sensor, RF transmitter and low frequency receiver, and other features. Freescale is a major manufacturer of the various chips and semiconductors used in consumer and other devices. The company did not say if the new product has been designed into any automobiles yet.
