Wisegate Raises $4M More For IT Community

Austin-based WiseGate, which operates an online community aimed at senior IT professionals, said today that it has raised $4M in a Series B funding round. The startup--led by Sara Gates--said the new round brings its total raised to $8M. The funding came from Arcus Capital Partners, along with Central Texas Angel Network, Atlanta Technology Angels, Golden Seeds, and Cowtown Angels. WiseGate operates a member-only service which lets IT professionals to connect with others in the field, helping them to collaborate and learn from peers. The service screens out IT vendors and only lets IT professionals into the service. WiseGate said it will use the new funding to hire employees in the area of product marketing, customer care, and sales. More information »
