Bigcommerce Snags Former Groupon COO For Board

Austin-based Bigcommerce, which develops e-commerce software for small- and medium-sized retailers, said this morning that it has named Kal Raman, the former COO of Groupon, to its board of directors. Raman is currently CEO of SolutionStar, and also has served at Amazon and Drugstore.com. Bigcommerce said Raman will help the company's executive team with scaling the business. The move comes as Bigcommerce has started a big international expansion, boosted by a big $50M funding round led by SoftBank Capital back in November.
