ACTIVE Network Buys IPICO Sports

Dallas-based ACTIVE Network announced this morning that it has acquired IPICO Sports, a provider of sports timing products. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. ACTIVE Network said the additio of IPICO will expand its real-time,on-site capabilities for its event organizers. IPICO's products are commonly seen at the finish line of sporting events, using electronic "tags" in the form of shoe tags, bib tags, and other sensors on participants, which are tied to readers which track when participants start and finish a course. IPICO is based in Illinois.
