Thread Targets IoT Startups In Austin

An industry group focused on the Internet-of-Things (IoT), The Thread Group is specifically reaching out to Austin startups to join its new Innovation Enabler Program, according to the group. The Thread Group--an industry alliance focused on the Thread wireless mesh networking protocol--is supported by such companies as Freescale, Nest, and Samsung. Freescale Semiconductor, which helped develop Thread, says it believes that Austin-based startups, in particular, can benefit from the access to the program, which is open to pre-Series A funded startups, who are planning to ship products in the second half of 2015 or the first half of 2016.
