UT Austin Honored For Science, Math, Engineering Mentoring
A program at the University of Texas Austin, which helps high school students from disadvantaged areas in inner-city Houston and rural Southwest Texas schools gain interest in the sciences, mathematics, and engineering, has received an award from the White House for its success in helping local students. President Obama has awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM) to the GeoFORCE program out of the UT Austin Jackson School of Geosciences. The award was one of fifteen handed out on Friday by the White House.
