AT&T Dangles $1M To Startups Boosting Student Career Success
Dallas-based AT&T said today that it is offering up $1 million in total funding, split between eight startups working on solutions to help students with career success. AT&T said it will award $125,000 each to each of those eight startup, as part of its AT&T Aspire startup accelerator. AT&T says the search, for ed-tech startups working to "close the country's growing skills gap", is specificaly looking for companies preparing students for future career success, including a focus on STEM (science-technology-engineering-math) fields. The eight top applicants also will participate in AT&T's 6-month accelerator program, which the company says gives those startups access to AT&T's senior executives, plus mentoring from "leading minds" in the education and skilling space. The deadline for applications is February 1st.
