Knowingly Buys GigaOm

Austin-based Knowingly, a new startup led by Byron Reese, said Tuesday that it has acquired a portion of the assets of defunct technology news publisher Gigaom. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. The asset deal included both Gigaom's webste, gigaom.com, as well as the company's content library. Knowingly said it plans to relaunch Gigaom in August. Reese previously founded Hot Data and PageWise, and also is and author and speaker.
