Spanning Gets Validation From Analyst Firm

Austin-based Spanning Cloud Apps, the cloud data backup provider which was recently acquired by EMC, says it has had its data protection capabilities validated by analyst firm Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG). Spanning said that ESG's labs have validated the data protection capabilities of its software. Spanning said that ESG Reseasrch has evaluated the software, to confirm that Google Apps data is fully protected and secure, as well as easy to recover. The report is part of a push by EMC and Spanning to get the word out about the company's cloud-based data backup services. EMC acquired Spanning back in October.
