Spanning Expands In Austin With New HQ

Austin-based Spanning Cloud Apps, the division of EMC which provides backup and recovery for cloud-based software, said today that it is expanding into a new headquarters in Austin. Spanning said its new headquarters, at 501 Congress, nearly doubles its square footage in Austin, increasing its footage by more than 80 percent. Spanning said the move will help it more than double its headcount. The company said it chose the Congress Street location in downtown, because remaining at the center of the business and tech scene in Austin will help its employees access the "energy of the neighborhood".
