Michael And Susan Dell Foundation Back iMerit

The Michael and Susan Dell Foundation has put its backing into a startup which says it is looking to help "marginalized youth", and in particular young women, to help supply human power to efforts in machine learning, photo identification and facial recognition, tagging, and more for companies. According to San Francisco- and Kolkata, India-based iMerit, it raised $3.5M from The Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, Khosla Impact and Omidyar Network. The company says it taps into a workforce of youth in such countries as India, who can help with digital services even without a formal education or skills. More information »
