National Instruments Buys Micropross

Austin-based National Instruments said Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired French test systems developer Micropross. The deal is worth approximately $108M. Micropross, which is based near Lille, France, develops wireless test systems used for testing Near Field Communications (NFC), smart cards, and wireless charging systems. National instruments said it is paying 90 percent in cash, and 10 percent in shares of NI commons tock for Micropross. Micropross was backed by Ardian. Micropross was advised by Sifel and Latham & Watkins in the deal; National Instruments was advised by McDermott Will & Emery.
