OpenKey, Kaba Ink Strategic Partnership

Dallas-based OpenKey, which is developing a standard set of technology and APIs to allow for industry-wide, standard keyless entry systems for hotel rooms, said today that it is in preferred partnership with access management and lock maker Kaba. The two--who have already been working together on technology--said the new strategic partnership will integrate OpenKey's mobile entry service with new, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) locks being developed by Kaba. OpenKey is backed by 12 different hotel owner groups, and is an effort to create a single standard for keyless entry to rooms.
