StackPath Acquires Cloak

Dallas-based StackPath, the stealthy cybersecurity startup led by former SoftLayer CEO and Chairman Lance Crosby, has quietly acquired Cloak, a Seattle startup that develops an iOS and Mac virtual private networking (VPN) app. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Cloak said its team will use the acquisition to expand its development to add Android and Windows tools to its existing software. StackPath is still in stealth mode, and has been mum on what it is working on. Crosby was head of SoftLayer until it was acquired by IBM in 2013.
