Hangar Gets $6.5M For Drone Software

Austin-based Hangar, a startup developing commercial drone software, has raised $6.5M in a seed funding, the company said on Thursday. The funding was led by Lux Capital, and also included Fontinalis Partners. Hangar was founded by Colin Guinn (former CRO of 3D Robotics, former CEO of DJI North America), and Jeffrey DeCoux (founder, CEO of eCustomers, SMART Technologies). According to Hangar, it is developing automated technology platform to help collect aerial data across multiple industries.
