GameStop Sees Softness In Video Game Sales, Sales Decline
Grapevine, Texas-based videogame retailer GameStop said Tuesday that it has seen a "softness" in the video game business, reporting that comparable same store sales at the retailer declined 6.5% in its latest quarter. The company said it saw weaker than expected demand during the last few weeks of October, resulting in a 20.6 percent decline in new hardware sales, and an 8.6 percent decline in new software sales.
