Trend Micro Ties Into Anti-Ransomware Effort

Dallas-based cybersecurity software developer Trend Micro said this morning that it has joined into an industry effort to combat ransomware, the No More Ransom (NMR) project. Trend Micro said it will be providing ransomware decryption tools as a part of its involvement. No More Ransom offers up advice, questions and answers, decryption tools, and crime reporting to victims of ransomware attacks--which typically lock up and encrypt a user's important data until they pay ransom--usually in the form of Bitcoin--to release that data. Trend Micro said it joins more than 30 other partners from the public and private sector in the NMR project.
