TPG Capital Completes RCN and Grande Communications Buy

Fort Worth-based TPG Capital said Wednesday that it has completed its acquisition of RCN Telecom Services LLC (RCN) and Grande Communications Networks LLC (Grande). The deal was worth $2.25 billion, and had been announced in August of 2016. TPG Capital said the acquisition will create the seventh-largest U.S. cable company and provider of high-speed broadband, serving six states. TPG paid $1.6 billion for RCN, and $650M for Grande Communications in two separate transactions with ABRY Partners.
