Rackspace Buys Datapipe

San Antonio-based Rackspace said this morning that it has acquired Datapipe, a developer of managed, public cloud services. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Rackspace is owned by private equity investor Apollog Global Management, and Datapipe is owned by Abry Partners. Abry receives equity in Rackspace as part of the deal. Datapipe is baesd in Jersey City, New Jersey, and was founded in 2000; it has 825 employees and operates 29 data centers, according to Rackspace.
