WP Engine Raises $250M

Austin-based WordPress hosting service WP Engine has raised an enormous, $250M funding round, the company said on Thursday, from private equity investment firm Silver Lake. According to WP Engine, the new investment comes as the company passes $100M in annual, recurring revenue. Greg Mondre, Lee Wittlinger, and Mark Gillett--all of Silver Lake--join WP Engine's board of directors as part of the investment round. WP Engine, which is led by CEO Heather J. Brunner, said the funding will go to "help accelerate innovation" at the company and also for future international growth. More information »
