Bumble Responds To Match With Ad, Calls Firm A Bully
Austin-based female-centric dating app developer Bumble has responded to Dallas-based Match Group's latest move against the company--a patent infringment lawsuit--calling Match a "bully" in a full page ad in the New York Times. In its ad, Bumble said "We'll never be yours. No matter the price tag, we'll never compromise our values." Bumble's ad also told Match to "consider yourselves blocked." Match Group has reportedly been trying to buy Bumble, and after its efforts were spurned, Match's own dating app, Tinder, announced its own efforts to create its own female-centric dating features that essentially replicate Bumble's "ladies-first" features.
