Match's Tinder Secures Swipes, Images
Tinder, the mobile dating app owned by Dallas-based Match Goup, has addressed the security issues uncovered in a security researchers report in January, including fully encrypting images transmitted between its servers and fixing data transfers which would have let hackers determine if users were swiping "left" or "right" on photos, according to the company. In a letter to Senator Ron Wyden last week released by the company, Match Group said it fixed the image encryption on February 6th, and fixed the data padding in its API on June 19th. The response came after an inquiry by Senator Ron Wyden on the company's security practices.
