Vapor IO Names Rackspace Vet As COO
Austin-based Vapor IO, which is developing data center and colocation services based on its own technology--which sit at the edge of wireless networks--has named Jacques Greyling as its new Chief Operating Officer, the company said on Wednesday. Greyling previously was at Rackspace, where he was most recently SVP Global Infrastructure. Greyling has been at Rackspace for fifteen years, holding such positions as VP Global Datacenters and Engineering, VP Autohost, Managing Director UK and Director of Operations. Greyling also has served at Datacentrix and Nissan Automakers. Vapor IO is now aiming at developing colocation services at what it calls "tower-connected edge data centers" at the edge of wireless networks. The company's investors include Berkshire Partners and Crown Castle.
