SpaceX Test Fires New Raptor Engines In West Texas
SpaceX test fired its new Raptor engines at its test site in West Texas over the weekend, according to CEO Elon Musk. The new SpaceX engines are being developed for the next SpaceX launch vehicle. The Raptor engine is a liquid-fueled rocket engine which uses methane and liquid oxygen, and are expected to have about twice the power of the current Merlin 1D engines used in the SpaceX Falcon 9.
