Texas Cities Among Top 10 For Private Tech Acquisitions

Think your technology startup has better odds elsewhere for an acquisition? Maybe not, according to a recent report released today by PrivCo, a firm which offers up data on mergers, acquisitions, and private equity. The firm ranked three Texas cities among its top 10 for private mergers and acquisitions, saying that Austin was number 6, Dallas was number 9, and Houston was number 10 in terms of private technology companies acquired in 2012. Unsuprisingly, the top market was Silicon Valley. It's unclear where Texas would rank as a whole in the list if Austin, Dallas, and Houston were combined into a single market, but the high individual rankings for all three cities bode well for the region's reputation in the technology startup market.
