U.K. Telecom Acquires Majority Stake in MeshLinx
A U.K.-based telecommunications firm has acquired a controlling stake in MeshLinx Wireless Inc., a Richardson, Texas-based provider of Wi-Max and Wi-Fi network solutions. ROK Mobile International, which is headquartered in Wolverhampton, England, announced Monday that it has gained a 51 percent interest in MeshLinx. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. ROK Mobile said it will capitalize on a new wireless technology that MeshLinx has developed to reach the full spectrum of mobile consumers. ROK Mobile explained that the technology is based on software-defined (or software configurable) radios.
