Whole Foods' Walter Robb Backs Food Startup, FoodMaven

Former Whole Foods co-CEO and founder Walter Robb is the main backer in a round of funding for a food startup, FoodMaven, FoodMaven said on Thursday morning. According to FoodMaven, a startup developing an online marketplace to recapture food lost in inefficiencies in the U.S. agricultural supply chain, Robb also has joined the company's board. Size of the investment was not announced. FoodMaven says it is creating an internet marketplace and "rapid logistics system" for re-selling and quickly delivering this lost food, using big data optimization technology. FoodMaven is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
