Xenex Raises $11.3M For Germ Zapping System
San Antonio-based xenex, a developer of UV-based, room disinfection robots for healthcare facilities, said today that it has raised $11.3M in funding. The funding came from Battery Ventures, Targeted Technology Fund II, RK Ventures, and the company's other existing investors. According to the company, it will use the funding for product development, international expansion, and to expand its sales force in the U.S. Xenex develops a room disinfection system which uses intense, UV light to destroy viruses, bacteria, mold, fungus and bacterial spores in healthcare facilities such as hospital rooms.
