BMC Software Acquired By KKR

Houston-based enterprise software developer BMC Software is being acquired by private equity investor KKR, BMC and KKR said this morning, with KKR taking over the stakes of existing private equity investors Bain Capital Private Equity, Golden Gate Capital, plus GIC, Insight Venture Partners, and Elliott Management. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. BMC Software's prior investor group took BMC private in September of 2013. That deal, which was announced in 2013, had been worth $6.9 billion.
