Freescale Buys Swell Software

Austin-based Freescale, a developer and manufacturer of embedded semiconductors, reported today that it has acquired Swell Software, a developer of graphic user interface (GUI) development tools. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Swell's products work with embedded operating systems. Swell was based in Port Huron, Michigan. Freescale said the asset deal included only certain key assets of Swell Software.
