HID Global Buys IdenTrust

Austin-based HID Global, the provider of location access control, identity, access card, and other related products, reported this morning that it has acquired Identrust, a provider of digital identity products. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. HID Global said that Identrust is the largest supplier of digital identities for the Department of Defense's External Certification Authority (ECA) program and the General Services Administration's Access Certificates for Electronic Services (ACES) program. Identrust is a major provider of SSL certificates for secure web sites and other enterprise apps.
