HID Global Buys Crossmatch

Austin-based HID Global, which develops identification systems, card readers, and other related products, said on Sunday that it has acquired Crossmatch, a developer of biometric identity management and secure authentication technology. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. HID Global said it acquired Crossmatch from Francisco Partners. The deal includes biometric identity management hardware and software, according to HID Global. Crossmatch was founded in 1996, and was based in Palm Beach Gardens, Floria; HID Global said Crossmatch has over 270 employees.
