Mailgun Buys Mailjet
San Antonio-based Mailgun, which provides email infrastructure and APIs, has acquired Paris-based Mailjet, a provider of software and infrastructure for delivering and tracking both marketing and transactional emails. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Mailgun--which was acquired itself earlier this year by private equity investor Thomas Bravo--said the acquisition will help it expand its footprint, and grow its customers to over 290,000 companies in over 150 countries. Both companies provide the infrastructure and back end services required to deliver email to customers. Mailgun was acquired by Thoma Bravo back in April; it was originally a spinout of Rackspace. Mailgun is now led by CEO Will Conway.
