Lexicon Names New VP

Lexicon Genetics Inc. has appointed Tamar D. Howson its executive vice president of business development, Lexicon announced Wednesday. In her new role, Howson will be responsible for leading the company’s pharmaceutical partnering and licensing efforts. She will be a member of the company’s executive management team and will report to Arthur T. Sands, Lexicon president and CEO. Howson most recently held a similar role with Bristol-Myers Squibb. Before that, Howson worked at SmithKline Beecham and consulted for U.S. and European companies. Lexicon is a biopharmaceutical firm based in The Woodlands, Texas.
