Dell Sued By New York Attorney General
Round Rock, Texas-based computer maker Dell has been sued by the New York Attorney General, Andrew M. Cuomo, over the firm's advertising and technical support services. Cuomo announced Wednesday that his office has filed suit in the New York Albany Couty Supreme court against Dell, along with Dell Financial Services, the firm's joint venture with CIT Bank to provide financing for Dell purchases. According to Cuomo, the lawsuit accuses the firms of engaging in "bait and switch" financing tactics and failure to provide customers with adequate customer service. The Attorney General is looking for Dell and DFS to pay restitution, pay civil penalties, and adopt measure to ensure they do not engage in deceptive, illegal, and fraudulent practices in the future.
