Dell Sued Over Wireless Patents

Round Rock-based Dell is one of a number of defendants in a new, patent infringement lawsuit filed by WiLAN yseterday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Tyler Division. WiLAN, an aggressive patent licensing firm which owns a bank of 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, and other wireless patents, said it sued Apple, Alcatel-Lucent, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, HTC america, Kyocera International, Kyocera Communications, Novatel Wireless, and Sierra Wireless over infringement of two patents it owns, covering CDMA and HSPA, and Wi-Fi and LTE.
