Surgient Promotes Lucas to President, CEO

Surgient, a developer of "virtual lab" applications for software testing, training and evaluation, reported Tuesday that it has promoted Tim Lucas to president and chief executive officer. Formerly Surgient's chief financial officer, Lucas replaces previous CEO Bill Daniel, who will remain with the company in an advisory role. Prior to joining Surgient, Lucas held senior management positions with the SAS Institute Inc., Red Hat Inc., Akopia Inc. and Petroglyph Energy. Surgient is a privately held, venture-backed company based in Austin, Texas.
