Surgient, a publisher of virtual lab management software, reported Monday that it has hired Craig Parks as vice president of marketing. The Austin, Texas-based company said Parks will be responsible for expanding its footprint in the virtualization market. Surgient said he will also direct a marketing team that will drive product marketing, corporate communications and channel program strategies. Describing Parks as a 25-year marketing veteran, Surgient said Parks most recently served as chief marketing officer of Biophysical Corp. Before that, he founded Socket Public Relations, which Hill & Knowlton later acquired. He has also held senior management-level positions with Blanc & Otus, Boundless Technologies and The Continuum Co.
