Paymetric Debuts Encryption Software

Houston, Texas-based Paymetric Inc., a developer of payment card software for enterprise systems, revealed Tuesday that it has released an application for managing and centralizing encrypted credit card data across an enterprise. The company said the new utility, called XiSecure, removes credit card numbers stored in business applications and places them in a secure, centralized system that can be protected and monitored. Paymetric explained that, in lieu of credit card numbers, business applications are left with unique tokens, which would have no value in the event of a security breach, the company said. Paymetric is venture backed by Austin Ventures.
