Gazzang Debuts New Big Data Encryption Tool
Austin-based database security and encryption software provider Gazzang said today that it has debuted a new, block-level data encryption product, aimed at the big data market. The firm said its updated Gazzang zNcrypt product now supports block-level encryption, which allows its product to be used in "big data" environments. Gazzang said the block level support will provide "significant" performance improvement of file level encryption due to the sheer volume of data being collected in big data environments. Gazzang is venture backed by Austin Ventures and Silver Creek Ventures.
