Gazzang Expands Database Encryption Support
Austin- and Houston-based Gazzang, the provider of data encryption software backed by Austin Ventures, said today that it has expanded its data encryption and security software to cover additional open source databases. The firm said it now supports PostgreSQL, Drizzle, MongoDB and Cassandra, in addition to existing MySQL support. Gazzang's software provides extensions to those databases to encrypt data, witohut requiring changes to applications or databases. Gazzang is headed by Larry Warnock, the former CEO of Phurnace.
