Raytheon Buys Oakley Networks

Defense contractor Raytheon Co. announced Thursday that it has agreed to acquire Oakley Networks, a developer of cyber-security technology. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Raytheon noted that Oakley is perhaps best known for an Internet security platform that combines an enterprise-monitoring application with visual investigation and forensics tools. Raytheon added that Oakley's clients are U.S. government agencies and Fortune 500 companies. Oakley employs some 200 people and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was founded in 2001. Raytheon's Intelligence and Information Systems division is based in Garland, Texas. The company also headquarters its professional services business and its Network Centric Systems division in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
