WhiteFence Adds Three Midwest Energy Clients

Houston, Texas-based WhiteFence, an online comparison-shopping marketplace for residential utilities and services, reported today that three Midwest energy providers have contracted with the firm to develop and support their respective online move centers. The energy clients are: Indianapolis Power & Light, which provides electric service to some 470,000 customers in the Indianapolis area; Citizens Gas, which provides natural gas services to more than 266,000 customers in the Indianapolis area; and DTE Energy Co., which serves more than 3.5 million customers through various subsidiaries. WhiteFence explained that the online move centers will enable each energy provider to cut costs and boost revenues by reducing customer service and call center costs. WhiteFence is venture backed by Adams Street Partners and Internet Capital Group Inc.
