PayPal Officially Opens Technology Center In Austin

PayPal has officially opened its new technology center in Austin today, saying that it is planning to hire hundreds of local professionals in the next three years at the center. The technology center for PayPal Data Services, Inc. will support PayPal's online payment service. The new location comes in addition to existing technology centers for PayPal, located in San Jose, California, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Dublin, Ireland. PayPal said that it selected Austin for the new center because of the strong pool of talented technology professionals. The company announced it would open a center in Austin in July; the grand opening is being celebrated today at 1pm by PayPal and the Austin Chamber of Commerce at the new location, which is at 7700 West Parmer Lane.
