Xtera Communications Buy AscenVision

Allen, Texas-based Xtera Communications said this week that it has acquired San Jose-based AscenVision Technologies. AscenVision develops IP networking products used for traffic and bandwidth management. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. AscenVision was venture backed by New Enterprise Associates, ARCH Venture Partners, and Wellcome Trust, along with others. Xtera is a manufacturer of optical networking equipment used for video distribution and telecommunications.
