SoftLayer Launches Backup Offering

Dallas, Texas-based web hosting firm SoftLayer said Wednesday that it has begun offering a new backup and recovery solution to its clients. SoftLayer said that it has begun offering EVault, a backup and recovery solution from Seagate. The firm said that the new product will allow its customers to fine-tune their own backups, and will be integrated into its automated services. SoftLayer said pricing will depend on the volume of compressed data uploaded to its web site.
